The decision has been made: on 15 August, the Cyberbeveiligingswet – the NIS2 Implementation Act – will come into force. Is your organisation ready?
Just a few more weeks to go and then it will really be here: the Cyberbeveiligingswet will come into force. The Senate has passed the bills, the Act has been officially published in the Government Gazette and a definitive date has been set for the Act to come into force: 15 August 2026.
Essential or important? There’s work to be done!
Just a quick refresher: is your company a so-called essential or important entity? If so, you fall under the NIS2 Directive. And there’s work to be done, because you’ll need to comply with a substantial set of cybersecurity requirements and obligations.
Impact even if you are not covered by the directive
Is your organisation not an essential or important entity? Even so, NIS2 may still apply (indirectly) if you are part of the supply chain of an organisation subject to NIS2. Customers, suppliers or supply chain partners will soon be asking questions such as:
“How have you organised your cybersecurity?”
“Can you demonstrate what measures you’re taking?”
“What happens if an incident occurs?”
