Axia bets on uniform IT environment and opts for IT Local

Michel Roumen, CEO of fast-growing Axia, put his signature under a multi-year contract last Thursday. And thus officially ratified the choice of IT Local as IT partner. We are happy and proud to welcome Axia as a new client!

Axia, a buy-and-build investor in personal injury agencies, has the ambition to become the market leader in this sector. Van der Toorn Personenschade is now part of the company and further acquisitions are expected in late 2025 and early 2026. To connect new companies seamlessly, a uniform IT environment is very important. That is why Axia last year started looking for an IT party that could provide this. Security, easy management and added value for employees were also high on the wish list.

After a thorough selection process, Axia chose IT Local
With the help of external consultant Peter van Hengstum, ten parties were contacted and then assessed based on the answers to the questions in the questionnaire sent along. From the remaining shortlist of three parties, IT Local emerged as the winner after a round of talks. Michel Roumen explains the choice: "The discussions with Remko Kleij [director IT Local, ed.] and Jeroen Molenaar [senior account manager IT Local, ed.] gave us confidence and a good feeling. In the end, what was decisive was that IT Local's vision and approach do not focus on technology but on our employees. Because in the end, it's all about our people: that they understand the new environment, enjoy working in it and benefit from the extra possibilities."

Thorough adoption programme
Remko: "We are eager to get to work for Axia! IT Local has also grown rapidly and we therefore understand the growing pains that can arise with a buy-and-build strategy. Together with Axia, we will ensure that we develop a well thought-out adoption programme for their employees. Optimising Axia's processes will also make collaboration with-and integration of-new colleagues a lot easier."

Immediate practical action
Last Thursday, in addition to Michel, Peter, Remko and Jeroen, Sander van Zweden (office manager Axia), Amber Koops (project manager IT Local) and Freek Konings (engineer IT Local) were at the table. Jeroen: "This allowed us to proceed practically immediately after signing the contract and we discussed the scope of the project and the division of roles, among other things. And because Peter had already provided an inventory at an earlier stage, we can now quickly take the next step."
