Milan Megens van Giesbers wins the football table

The top prize in our World Cup competition, the unique IT-Local-Code-Oranje football table, has been won by Milan Megens van Giesbers from Wijchen.

The winner of the football table has been announced: Milan Megens from Giesbers Ontwikkelen en Bouwen in Wijchen. His reason for why his team or company should win the table had a nice link to security, the sub-theme of the competition:

Because we’re so strict about security that ‘not locking up for a moment’ feels like an own goal here. We lock laptops as standard every time you step away from your desk, so our defence is already top-notch. Now we want to bring that same energy and team spirit to our breaks: a spot of table football to help us stay sharp… both on the pitch and digitally.

Large table in Rotterdam, mini table in Wijchen

Milan, who has just completed his ICT work placement at Giesbers and will remain there until the construction industry’s summer break, was delighted with the win. And certainly surprised too: “I didn’t think I’d win.”

Unfortunately for him, the table was installed at the Rotterdam branch – the beautiful Van Nelle factory – rather than in Wijchen, so he cannot play on it every day. That is why he was also presented with one of the five mini football tables last Friday.

In Rotterdam , Milan naturally took the opportunity to christen the table, together with Nigel Buis (IT manager at Giesbers) and our commercial director Hanny van Vugt. In the photo above, you can see them in action.
